Breakout School Escape Rooms

If you have not come across an Escape Room before they are live action rooms where teams of people are locked in until they solve a host of different challenges and puzzle that will allow them to escape.

As it is not recommended to lock your students in a room,  at School Escape Rooms we have instead designed our Classroom Escapes by locking a key in a box. It is the task of the teams of pupils, to crack codes work out riddles and solve puzzles to work out how to get into the box. If you are looking for an activity that engages pupils with maths content then this is perfect.  The pupil’s desire to get to access the next level  drives and motivates them to crack the puzzles which eventually leads them to a key which will stop the timer.

Teachers will be able to watch the different approaches of their pupils as they tackle puzzles and challenges that have no instructions. All teams will need to utilise not just their maths knowledge but also their team work skills to work out what they are required to do and how to do it!

Which Age Are The Breakout School Escape Rooms Targeted At?

Our maths School Escape Rooms have been designed for KS2 at Primary School and KS3 and KS4 at Secondary School.

Where Do The Workshops Take Place?

The best location for our Maths Classroom Escapes is a school hall or Gym. It is also possible to run the sessions for the day in a designated classroom. This can be discussed before the visit.

How Many Students Can Take Part At Once?

For the workshops to work at their best we suggest a class size (approx 30) to be the maximum size per visiting instructor. This gives the instructor the chance to guide and help the students where necessary.

Larger group sizes can be arranged

How Many Workshops Can You Run In A day?

Primary School: We typically run four sessions a day when visiting a primary school.  Typically this would accommodate years 3 – 6 of KS. An example timetable can be seen on the right of the page.

Secondary School: Typically we run alongside the lesson structure of the school. We are able to do this by our instructors bringing double the amount of escape boxes needed per session. The previous sessions boxes will be reset during the following session when the instructor has started the students on their escape. Alternatively we can create a bespoke timetable allowing time between sessions to reset the boxes.

How Much Does A Day of Classroom Escapes Cost?

The cost for one instructor for the day is £495.00 plus VAT with the exception of the months of April,  May, August and December where the price is reduced to £425.00 plus VAT
